The Surfrider Foundation is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, waves, and beaches, for all people. By addressing plastic reduction, ocean protection, beach access, coast and climate issues, and clean water protection. Surfrider’s 81 chapters and powerful network of over 1,000,000+ supporters, activists, and members work tirelessly on hundreds of campaigns, programs, and community events each year.

Our SEAGLASS Sustainability Mission

We believe we have a responsibility to take meaningful actions to reduce our impact on the environment and to incorporate environmental responsibility into our decision-making. Embracing sustainable farming practices, practicing mindful water consumption, and actively engaging in recycling initiatives, we strive to lead by example as stewards of the environment both in our vineyard and winery.

In the Winery

The SEAGLASS winery is certified for sustainability by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance.

In the Vineyard

Our home vineyard in Santa Barbara County is Sustainability in Practice (SIP) certified. The SIP certification process is rigorous and includes standards for water use and conservation, energy efficiency, cover crops, and social responsibility.

Beach Cleanups

SEAGLASS is committed to the Surfrider Foundation’s mission to protect and enhance beaches and waterways everywhere by encouraging beach cleanups. In 2023, over 225,000 pounds of trash were removed by over 34,000 volunteers from over 990 cleanups through the Surfrider Foundation’s efforts. Last year, SEAGLASS spent the day with the Surfrider team in Huntington Beach, California and collected 243 pounds of trash on the beach. This year, we’re looking to at least double that!

Ocean Friendly Restaurants

SEAGLASS is excited to support the Surfrider Foundation’s Ocean Friendly Restaurant program. This initiative recognizes restaurants committed to making sustainable choices for the ocean by eliminating wasteful single-use plastics. Beyond sustainability, this program fosters a vibrant community of environmentally conscious restaurants, advocates, and diners. Together, we promote a healthier planet and a more mindful approach to daily life.
